The 2017 and 2018 festival artwork were graciously donated by Alaska’s very own Steve Gordon.

Steve grew up in Iowa along the scenic Mississippi River Valley. After moving to Anchorage in 1984, he taught painting, drawing, and design classes as an adjunct instructor at UAA before becoming the Director of the Art Program at Alaska Pacific University for two years. Since 1992, Steve has worked full-time as a professional artist, painting the south central Alaska landscape. He has received several public art commissions and has held numerous shows across the state. His work can be seen at the Anchorage Museum of History and Art, as well as in many collections across the country. For more examples of his paintings and further information, please visit or his Facebook page.

The 2018 original painting will be sold by silent auction as a fundraiser for future festivals. Please visit the Wendy Williamson auditorium to bid on this gorgeous work.

The entire AFF Board wishes to express our sincere appreciation for Steve’s generous donation of our 2018 AFF artwork!
