The 2019 festival is from January 16th to the 27th.
Performers can sign up here for main stage performances, folk week events, and workshop proposals. Please make a single submission for all events for each performer combination. (Performers in multiple bands or proposing multiple works may need to make additional submissions.)
Main Stage events at UAA Wendy Williamson Auditorium are evenings starting at 7:00 pm, and weekend afternoons from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. The concerts are free and all performances with the exception of the headliner are voluntary and at the discretion of the board and designated volunteers. Since evening sets are popular, being willing to play an afternoon set maximizes your chances of a Main Stage booking. Sets are limited to 15 minutes, including set-up (usually 2-3 minutes).
Folk Week events are distributed throughout Anchorage and Eagle River and are dependent upon venue availability. If you are interested in such a performance, please indicate so on your application and someone will be in touch once venues are arranged. These performances are typically not directly supported by sound crews and AFF representatives, so please plan to be self-sufficient if you sign up for a Folk Week event.
Workshops are held at the Wendy Williamson on the weekends. Workshops are held as class space and volunteer teachers are available. Your ideas for new or repeat workshops are welcome!
SUBMISSION DEADLINE IS NOVEMBER 1, 2018.
<ALL FORMS RECEIVED AFTER NOVEMBER 1 WILL BE PLACED ON A STANDBY LIST>
